The Sachem School-Business Alliance is an organization composed of representatives
from the business, governmental, parental, and the educational community.
The only requirement to becoming a member of the SSBA is a willingness to help
our students become prepared for the workplace. There is no membership fee nor
do we ask members for any monetary contributions.
The advisory board meets several times a year for the following purposes:
- Participate in work-based activities that directly impact students,
i.e. Cooperative Work Experience, job shadowing, internships, guest speakers,
and job preparation.
-
Develop new work-based projects to connect business and education.
-
To provide a forum to discuss regional labor market trends, educational
and training needs, technology, and workforce development.
Anyone who would like to become a member of the Sachem School Business Alliance for
the 2007-08 school year should contact Kelly Penwell, SSBA Chairperson, Sachem North, at
631-471-1491 or e-mail at kpenwell@sachem.edu
It’s never too late to get involved!
